I've never been so worried about messing up a project as I was with this one. But guess what? It turned out okay! So honored to do this custom painting for my friend and her son Bruno. Big brother and Dad also got in on the design which makes this extra special. With just one night to… Continue reading Bruno’s Helmet

Rucksacks and Back Naps!
Rucksacks and back naps! As some of you know I've gotten hooked into an amazing local babywearing community since the middle of my pregnancy. Not only are these folks super supportive and fast becoming friends but I am learning so much about wrapping, carrying, and all the benefits that go with. Right now I'm focused on learning how to back carry. Today I tried a new finish and for the last two days simply having Trent on my back has equalled pretty decent naps. My kid, the sleepless wonder for the first three and a half to four months (night or day), is napping.
Baby in Flight
It's true, this past weekend we were 'those people' on your airplane. In the past, as a childless couple we would often hope our flights were baby free. We found it comical the amount of times we were sat beside a table full of rambunctious kiddos in restaurants when all we wanted was a quiet night… Continue reading Baby in Flight
Babywearing – A Mommy Essential
Today marks the start of International Babywearing Week. This "week-long opportunity to celebrate, promote, advocate for, and focus media attention on the many benefits of babywearing" will be all over my social media and in my life. Why? Because the babywearing community is my tribe; it is where I talk to other moms, it… Continue reading Babywearing – A Mommy Essential
My Texas Son
I've been in Texas for three years this August. My life certainly didn't begin here, but my greatest adventure has. On July 21st 2016 I became a mom. ME. I am a mom. And my little dude is a Texan. This girl from small town Ontario, who didn't even travel out of her zip code… Continue reading My Texas Son
Nursery Progress
One of my favourite things about this pregnancy has been the slow decoration of the kid's room. Because of getting pregnant only a couple of months after moving into the house, it has been the only room in the house to receive a creative touch... so far. The ability to work on this room slowly, over time and evolve… Continue reading Nursery Progress
My Texas Life is Changing
Not the blog, my actual life. Let's back track a little bit shall we? The last entry was a farewell to my precious Dez. While I didn't intend to take a hiatus as long as I did, I ended up needing a little extra time. I still have trouble understanding that she's gone and late… Continue reading My Texas Life is Changing
Goodbye My Friend.
Only a few short days ago I wrote about how difficult it was to watch my beloved friend age. As it turned out, i only had a few days left to enjoy her purrs before she would be gone. In my current grief I am unable to expand on my final day with Dez, but… Continue reading Goodbye My Friend.
My Aging Friend.
When I was young I was extremely allergic to cats. I tried hard to dislike them. They lacked personality, they weren't friendly or loyal, they destroyed everything, they were creatures I wanted nothing to do with. That's what I told myself. I had to trick myself into believing these things because a simple snuggle with… Continue reading My Aging Friend.
My Texas -Mommy- Life
There I was typing away at my NANOWRIMO story. I was creating characters I liked, taking them on an adventure I enjoyed when it hit me; exhaustion. I laid down for a nap that afternoon and I've been asleep ever since. Okay maybe not literally, I have been getting to work and social obligations… Continue reading My Texas -Mommy- Life
